About

About Pariah

A studio built on the belief that craft and care are inseparable.

Pariah exists for those who believe a piercing should feel as considered as the jewellery it holds.

There is a version of this industry that is transactional — fast, impersonal, indifferent to outcomes. Pariah is being built in deliberate opposition to that. Every decision — from how a consultation will be conducted to the needle selected — is made with the understanding that you are trusting us with something irreversible.

A great piercing is a great foundation. Placement, angle, jewellery — each element shapes a result that heals well, sits beautifully, and endures. Rushing any part of that is a disservice we are not willing to make.

The word "pariah" belongs to those who refuse to follow convention for the sake of it — who carry their choices with pride. That spirit is embedded in everything we do: a refusal to cut corners, to compromise on materials, to treat artistry as an afterthought.

Origin

Origin

Pariah began with a persistent frustration: the absence of a studio that held itself to the same standard it expected from its clients. A client arrives prepared — placement researched, anatomy considered, jewellery chosen with care. They deserve a piercer who meets them there.

Our founder spent years refining technique across studios across Australia before acknowledging that the studio she imagined did not yet exist. So she is building it — designed not for aesthetics but for function. Clean sight lines, proper sterilisation infrastructure, consultation areas built for honest conversation.

"I wanted clients to leave not just with a beautiful piercing, but with complete confidence in every decision that led to it."

Pariah has not opened yet. The measure will be the first appointments — not a story we tell in advance.

Philosophy

Our Philosophy

Two disciplines. One standard.

Approach

The Piercing Philosophy

Every piercing begins with a conversation. Before a needle is touched, we want to understand your anatomy, your lifestyle, and what you are genuinely hoping for — so that what we place heals correctly and looks exactly as intended.

Anatomy-led placement is non-negotiable. What works on one person may be entirely unsuitable for another. We will always be honest about this, and we will always offer an alternative if the placement you have in mind is not in your long-term interest.

  • Consultation before every appointment, without exception
  • Anatomy assessment for precise, sustainable placement
  • Single-use, sterile equipment throughout every procedure
  • Post-procedure guidance tailored to your specific piercing
  • Transparent communication about healing timelines and risks
Materials

The Jewellery Philosophy

The jewellery we stock is chosen with the same rigour that guides our technique. We do not carry pieces that compromise on material grade, regardless of their aesthetic appeal. What sits in a fresh piercing must be implant-safe — not merely beautiful.

We are drawn to jewellery that works with the body — pieces that complement where they sit rather than competing with it. Timeless over trend. Precise over ornate.

  • ASTM F136 implant-grade titanium as standard for initial piercings
  • 14k and 18k solid gold for healed and premium placements
  • No mystery alloys, no plated finishes in fresh tissue
  • Hand-selected from independent designers and certified manufacturers
  • Resizing and custom ordering available by consultation
Standards

Standards

We work to standards that exceed the minimum requirements of professional body piercing — not because legislation demands it, but because anything less is a compromise we won't make. The materials we choose, the protocols we follow, the equipment we use: each is selected to give every piercing the best possible foundation.

All jewellery used for initial piercings is ASTM F136 titanium or solid 14k/18k gold from verified suppliers. We do not use surgical steel as an initial material — its composition can vary and presents unnecessary risk. Our standards are informed by the Association of Professional Piercers and evolve as the field does.

The studio is being built for cleanliness. Surfaces, lighting, and protocols will leave nothing to chance. A piercing that heals beautifully is the only result we find acceptable.

APP Informed ASTM F136 Titanium 14k+ Gold Autoclave Sterilised Single-Use Equipment

Autoclave Sterilisation

All reusable tools are autoclave sterilised in sealed pouches, opened only at point of use — in front of you. Steriliser efficacy is verified through regular spore testing.

Single-Use Needles

Every needle is opened from sterile, single-use packaging and disposed of immediately after use. Nothing is reused between clients or between placements.

Implant-Grade Materials Only

Initial piercings are performed with ASTM F136 titanium or solid gold (14k minimum) — biocompatible, non-porous, and free from the nickel content that causes adverse reactions in lower-grade metals.

Cross-Contamination Protocols

Every station is fully reset and disinfected between clients. Barrier precautions are applied without exception — regardless of the procedure's perceived complexity.
